The NLG Cup is intentionally designed to reach all across Maryland and DC to give aspiring or talented gamers, regardless of location, a chance to compete and win cash and other prizes in a tournament on a regional (city/county) level while enabling unique, exciting, and more rewarding opportunities to play on larger stages. The NLG Cup is open to all ages 13 and up.

Regionals:
The NLG Cup is run initially on online. We start 16 tournaments, one for each region in Maryland and DC (city/county). An unlimited number of people can participate. We encourage players to compete in their closest region but players are allowed to compete in any region they wish.
HIGH REGIONALS:
When any region has more than 128 competitors for any specific game, the TOP 32 competitors from Regionals are entered into the High Regionals which are played in front of a local audience of other players and spectators at a movie theater in that region.
Top 4 players in High Regionals which have more than 256 original competitors will be provided a 3-day pass to AwesomeCon 2023 at the Walter E Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC to enjoy the event and compete in the NLG Cup Championships against winners from other regions.
CHAMPIONSHIPS:
The Championships are held at AwesomeCon in June 2023. The TOP 4 competitors from each High Regional will be provided a 3-day pass to enjoy and explore AwesomeCon as well as compete in the NLG Cup Championships. There will be up to 64 competitors, depending on how many High Regionals qualify.
Overview:
Prizing is based on number of entrants in a given region. The more entrants, the larger the payout. Each region will win cash prizes. If even two people sign up in any region, someone wins!

- 5 – 16 Players $125
- 17 – 32 Players $200/$50
- 33 – 64 Players $300/$250/$50
- 65 – 128 Players $450/$225/$75
- 129 – 256 Players Top 32 Enter High Regionals
HIGH REGIONALS:
- 129 – 256 Players $500/$300/$200
- 257+ Players $500/$300/$200
TOP 4 – Win 3-day pass to AwesomeCon
Championships:
- 257 – 512 Original Players $500/$300/$200/$100
- 513 – 1024 Original Players $1,000/$500/$250/$50 (places 4-8)
- 1025+ Original Players $2,500/$1,000/$500/$100 (4-8)/$50 (9-16)
First Place: 2 Round Trip Tickets, 2 nights at Luxor Hotel, Opportunity to Compete at HyperX Arena in Las Vegas!
* “Original Players” are counted as every person who competed in the this game from all regions.
** Championships will be run, regardless of regional qualification, for any game which totals 1,025 or more Original Players. After the qualifying High Regional winners are defined, we will contact Regional winners to offer opportunities to compete at the NLG Cup Championships to fill any open, remaining bracket spaces. Regions will be contacted in the order of number of Original Players for that region.
